Injectables

Injectable treatments at Select Health are performed by nurse practitioners. Treatments are placed in one of two categories: dermal fillers and neuromodulators (neurotoxins).

Dermal fillers are used to smooth lines and wrinkles (creases) around the mouth, restore volume in the lips and face that is lost in the aging process, and to enhance existing features such as the lips and cheeks.

Neurotoxins help to minimize fine lines and smooth away lines. Botox is a neuromodulator that smoothes and softens the glabellar lines between your eyes “elevens or bunny lines.” Botox is also used in the forehead to smooth and minimize the appearance of forehead creases and lines. The area around the eyes referred to as “crows feet” is treated with a neurotoxin to smooth fine lines and creases and restore a more youthful appearance.

Neurotoxins are typically used around the eyes and up, while dermal fillers are most always used below the eyes and lower.

These are the different brands of FDA-approved dermal fillers and neurotoxins that we use at Select Health:

Botox, Dysport, Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, Vobella XC, Voluma XC, Restylane Kysse

Microneedling

At Select Health we give our patients another option for skin rejuvenation through the procedure “Microneedling.” This treatment uses the FDA approved SkinPen® to induce collage production in the skin, making the skin healthier and to restore a more youthful appearance.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create controlled skin injuries. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through this process, skin texture and firmness improve. There is also a reduction in the appearance of scars and stretch marks, along with pore size.

In addition, microneedling can treat fine lines, melasma, hyperpigmentation, surgical scarring, chicken pox scarring, and acne scars. These skin conditions are usually treated in 4 to 6 microneedling sessions to achieve optimal results.

What to expect at your microneedling session

The face is cleaned with a mild cleanser, it is best to come to your appointment with clean skin. A topical numbing cream is used to prevent any pain during the procedure. The numbing cream is applied and will stay on the face for approximately 25 minutes.  The procedure will take approximately 30 minutes. The tiny pricking channels close within one hour, so post-procedure infections are extremely rare. The procedure can be repeated every four to six weeks as needed. For one to two days after treatment, patients will experience some redness and mild swelling akin to a mild sunburn.

Microneedling + PRP

Microneedling + PRP is completed in one session.  Platelet Rich Plasma “PRP” is first prepared by drawing your blood and then separated via centrifuge.  PRP is applied topically with microneedling. PRP may boost the effects of microneedling and aid in achieving desired results fasters than microneedling alone.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is the removal of top layer of skin. Our healthcare providers and esthetician is trained and licensed to perform this procedure. Dermaplaning is similar to shaving, it removes the dead skin cells along with “fuzzy” hairs on your face, that can make your skin look uneven.

After the procedure, your skin will appear smoother and you will have a fresh glow. Dermaplaning can be done before a chemical peel or it may be performed as a stand-alone procedure.

Chemical Peels

Our skin peels are superficial peels, which can accelerate the removal of dead skin cells.  Treatments can temporarily improve skin discoloration, acne, age spots, mild scaring and assist to diminish the appearance of fine lines.  Meet with our Esthetician to determine the right chemical peel for your skin type and your individual needs.

Signature Facials

Hydrafacials and Obaji®

Skintrinsiq

A facial is one of the most essential treatments of any esthetic skin care regimen. Our esthetician will use a combination of therapeutic treatments customized to your skin type and needs. During the facial your skin will be cleansed, extractions (as needed), exfoliated, massaged, and moisturized. A mask may be applied after extractions.
